Scams are everywhere and something that I’ve seen in my personal life was on Instagram. I got a message from a coworker saying they were stuck on the side of the road and really needed money to get gas so they could get home. They were asking over and over and not in a really nice way. They were really just trying to manipulate me into giving them money. The scam works by someone falling for a trap by the scammer and giving them their login details and then once the scammer has access they text all their followers trying to take over their account or get money from them as well. The scammer will also only give the account back if they’re given money. You can easily determine if it’s a scam because in this case they were saying they needed the money right now, it was at a job I was just starting so I didn’t think they would be asking me for money right away, and when I tried to make them call me they refused.
